EVboston is an initiative of the Boston Transportation Department, focusing on the infrastructure and introduction of electric cars to the City of Boston. Electric vehicles create less noise, air and lower the effects of climate pollution. The re-emergence of the electric vehicle has created an essential need for the development of charginginfrastructure at home, at work and in public places. EVboston is one pillar in Boston’s strategy targeted at reducing in the city’s levels of harmful particulate emissions and pollutants, by reducing 25 percent of carbon emissions by 2025, and 80 percent by 2020. Coupled with walking, public transit and bicycling; EVs help to encourage the use of more alternative mobility choices.
